Board of Directors

Lisa Alba lives in Pleasanton where she is an active member of the community as a teacher and and theatre arts advocate. She has been involved with StarStruck Theatre since 2013 when her daughter Natalya performed in The Little Mermaid Jr. She has volunteered at StarStruck as a dresser, usher, and house manager. Lisa joined the Board of Directors in 2015 to help StarStruck continue to provide high quality theatre arts training and performance opportunities to Bay Area youth.
Helen Chang, an East Bay resident most of her life, has lived in Fremont since 1993. Professionally, she is associate director of communications at Stanford Graduate School of Business. A mother of two adult sons, she first became involved in StarStruck as a parent volunteer when her youngest was cast in StarStruck’s production of The Music Man. Helen joined the Board in 2010.
Tami Golobic is a small business owner, wife and mother of three. In her role as co-owner/secretary at Golobic Construction, she is responsible for accounting, marketing, payroll and sales. Tami has been a volunteer and board member at her children’s schools for 25 years, as well as on the Board of Directors for Little League and Baylands Raceway Club. She enjoys spending time with kids and helping them grow, and loves theatre, racing, dogs and family time. Tami has been on the StarStruck Board since 2017.
Jennifer Toy Harrison has been a resident of Fremont since 1977, and is an active community member. With a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Geography, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Union Sanitary District and is a Commissioner on the East Bay Dischargers Authority. In addition, Jennifer serves on the Ohlone College Foundation. She is a mother to two teenage boys, and has been actively involved with StarStruck Theatre as a parent volunteer from 2010-2018, and board member from 2018-present. Jennifer is happy that her son has found a supportive, talented, and nurturing environment that has allowed him to express his creative side, while making some cherished friends at StarStruck Theatre.
Joe Lee, a Fremont resident since 1985, has been an active StarStruck parent for ten years and on StarStruck’s Board of Directors since 2017. Prior to joining StarStruck’s Board, he was an active volunteer at his children’s school and was the President of Gomes Elementary PTA, a non-profit organization under the National PTA. Professionally, Joe is the Director of Sales at SK Hynix focusing on automotive business and strategy. He holds both BS and MS in Engineering from Purdue, an MBA from Cornell, and an MS Law degree from Northwestern Law School.
Rick Kowalski recently retired after 37 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering office. Rick became involved with StarStruck after a classmate invited his daughter Emily to join the 2009 auditions for The Wizard of Oz. He was thrilled for her to be part of the positive environment at StarStruck over the next 10 years and 21 shows. Rick and his wife Marlene remain closely connected to StarStruck to help ensure that children – from all walks of life – can have the same opportunities their daughter had. They’ve formed close friendships while volunteering during the shows, fundraisers, and other events. Rick had the opportunity of a lifetime to step way out of his comfort zone and be a part of the choir in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Rick has served on the StarStruck Board since 2015.
Sherri Plaza is a long-time Fremont resident, who has been a StarStruck fan since 1999. After her daughter was cast in A Year with Frog and Toad (2006 – still one of her top favorite StarStruck shows), Sherri became even more impressed with StarStruck, and joined the Board of Directors. She has worked at local non-profits SAVE and LIFE ElderCare, and brings to the StarStruck board her experience in non-profit marketing, fundraising, and communications.
