Musical Theatre Dance (Ages 8-18)
In this 10-session class, students work on musical theatre jazz technique and combinations while gaining strength, flexibility, and endurance with StarStruck’s MainStage choreographer Francesca Cipponeri. Whether your student has taken just one theatre class or has been enrolled at StarStruck for years, ALL StarStruck students are highly encouraged to enroll in this class!
About the instructor: Francesca Cipponeri is a dancer and choreographer in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has always loved teaching and has spent her dance career studying Jazz, Modern, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, and Aerial Silks. She recently received her Masters in Fine Arts in choreography from Mills College in Oakland, CA with an emphasis in modern dance and is currently a performer both in the dance and theatre worlds of San Francisco and San Jose, CA. Francesca has performed with the Buglisi Dance Theatre at Lincoln Center in New York, NY and with the SF MOMA. She strives to encourage her students to dream big and challenge themselves as a performer. She is thankful for her students as they inspire and remind her each day to dance with wonder and with joy.

Putting on a Play (Ages 10-18)
Explore the fundamentals of putting on a play from auditioning to the big final performance! In this intermediate theatre class, students will focus on acting by exploring improv, drama, and comedy while rehearsing a 45 minute play. Students are expected to attend every class and memorize lines and blocking.

Song & Dance (Ages 8-12 & 10-14)
Song & Dance is the perfect place for both budding and experienced performers that love singing, dancing, and acting. In this class, students will put together a 45 minute musical review that will conclude with a performance at the StarStruck Studio for friends and family. Students are expected to attend every class and study at home to memorize music and choreography. The Wednesday group (Ages 10-14) is recommended to intermediate/advanced students who have participated in several mini musicals/camps and MainStage productions. This semester, both Song & Dance classes will be performing Pure Imagination- a brand-new musical revue featuring songs from across MTI's Broadway Junior® collection.

Kids on Broadway (Ages 6-8)
In this introduction to musical theatre, students will explore the basics of singing, dancing, and acting. We will have fun creating our own “mini musical” with 3 to 4 musical theatre songs and perform for friends and family at our final class meeting. This is the perfect class for students who are interested in musical theatre but are not quite ready for the intensity of the Mini Musical/Song & Dance Class.

Private Lessons with Molly (Piano or Voice)
Getting ready for an audition? Wanting to learn more about your voice? Have you always wanted to play piano? Now is your chance! These private lessons on either voice or piano will focus on technique that you can incorporate into other performance opportunities. Each student will receive 10 individualized lessons, which will lead to a group recital for friends and family at the end of the session.
About the instructor: Molly Anderson is excited to be back teaching at StarStruck Theatre! She has been involved with music her whole life, starting as a pianist when she was little. In addition to piano, she has consistently been involved in choirs, both at school and at her church. Molly has supervised music on productions such as “Disney’s A Little Mermaid: Junior” (Stage 1 Theatre), “The Addams Family” (Surflight Theatre), and “Legally Blonde” (Washington High School). She recently received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, with an emphasis in choral music from Azusa Pacific University. With 7 years of teaching experience, Molly enjoys seeing students grow into talented, confident performers.

START Improv & Theatre Games (Ages 9-12)
Improv is an art. It is an approach to creating theatre without a script and being in the moment. In this introductory level class, students will learn the art of “acting quickly” while focusing on the fundamentals of improvisation. Each week we will play theatre games, improvise scenes, and build active listening skills, communication with scene partners, and learn to let loose on stage. Join us in saying “YES” to improv! NOTE: This class meets March to May.
