START Improv (Ages 9-13)

Improv is an art. It is an approach to creating theatre without a script and being in the moment. Students will learn the art of “acting quickly” while focusing on the fundamentals of improv. Students will focus on theatre games and improvised scenes, while building active listening skills, communication with scene partners and letting loose on stage or “ZOOM”. Join us in saying “YES” to improv!

Music & Lyrics: Singing for Musical Theatre (Ages 8-13)

Join Miss Molly as we improve vocal techniques and study the music of Golden Age musicals such as Oklahoma, Peter Pan, and West Side Story. In this online course, students have the opportunity to improve their vocal technique, sing new music, and analyze the work of the most famous composers for American Musical Theatre.

Putting on a Play (Ages 10-18)

Explore the fundamentals of putting on a play from auditioning to the big final performance (performed LIVE on ZOOM) ! In this intermediate theatre class, students will focus on acting by exploring improv, drama, and comedy while rehearsing a 45 minute play. Students are expected to attend every class and memorize lines and blocking.

NEW: Scenes & Songs (Ages 8-12)

The joy of Mini Musical, but less work for the parents! Scenes & Songs is the perfect place for budding performers that love singing, dancing, and acting. In this online class, students will work on short scenes and songs from some of our favorite “mini musicals” of all time such as Moana, Aladdin and The Jungle Book. Students are expected to attend every class and study at home to memorize lines, music, and choreography.

NEW: Playwriting with Dawn Troupe (Ages 10-18)

Is there a hilarious event in your life that you’d love to share? Do you hold the coordinates for the next supernova from a dream? Is there a significant historical event that your family was involved in? Well here’s your chance to weave fact with fiction in playwriting. Join guest instructor Dawn Troupe as we work collaboratively to establish worlds and continue the story within each aspect of writing. This class is for those who love to write and those who have never written before yet hold a story. Students will work on writing 10-minute plays from all genres and end the semester in a reading of our favorite piece(s).

NEW: Puppetry Workshop with Kristin Stokes (Ages 8-12)

In this beginning to intermediate creative theatre class, students will work with Broadway’s Kristin Stokes to craft puppets, create characters, build a story, and learn how to animate their home made puppet. StarStruck will provide puppet making materials so students can follow along with Kristin as we create our puppets together. Have a parent join as a fun Saturday morning activity together. With our unique puppets at the ready, students will learn the steps to creating a story, all while engaging with a creative community and working together.
