NEW! Prep Your Rep A (Ages 9+)

A NEW course for anyone who knows they LOVE musical theatre and is interested in building their vocal selections for musical theatre auditions.

Students will learn basic vocal technique, characterization, and physicalization of music and lyrics in solo singing. This class will only allow a maximum of 8 students, so it is highly recommended that students have previous class, camp, or MainStage production experience at StarStruck before enrolling. Please note Prep Your Rep A and Prep Your Rep B are identical classes. The half hour overlap in scheduling is intentional so that both classes can combine and work on group music together. This class meets on Veterans Day (11/11) and one Saturday (11/16). All class meetings are mandatory.

Putting on a Play (Ages 10-16)

Explore the fundamentals of putting on a play from auditioning to the big final performance! In this intermediate theatre class, students will focus on acting by exploring improv, drama, and comedy while rehearsing a 45 minute play. Students are expected to attend every class and memorize lines and blocking. This class meets on Veterans Day (11/11) and one Saturday (11/16). All class meetings are mandatory. This semester, Putting on a Play class will be performing the comedy “The Audition”.

Kids on Broadway (Ages 5-6)

In this introduction to musical theatre, students will explore the basics of singing, dancing, and acting with Ms. Courtney. We will have fun creating our own “mini musical” with 1 to 2 musical theatre songs and perform for friends and family on our final class meeting. This is the perfect class for students that are interested in musical theatre but are not yet old enough for our other classes.

Kids on Broadway (Ages 7-9)

In this introduction to musical theatre, students will explore the basics of singing, dancing, and acting with Ms. Courtney. We will have fun creating our own “mini musical” with 2 to 3 musical theatre songs and perform for friends and family on our final class meeting. This is the perfect class for students that are interested in musical theatre but are not quite ready for the intensity of the Mini Musical Class.

NEW! Beginning Jazz (Ages 8-12)

Beginning Jazz is a NEW course for young students NEW to dance! This beginner’s course will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Students wishing to enroll in this course do NOT need to attend the dance placement day.

Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.

Beginning /Intermediate Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

We will focus on strengthening proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Emphasis will also be placed on improving performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.

Mini Musical is the perfect place for budding performers that love singing, dancing, and acting. In this class, students will put together a 45 minute musical that will conclude with a performance at the StarStruck Studio for friends and family. Students are expected to attend every class and study at home to memorize lines, music, and choreography. This semester, the mini musical class will be performing Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark Kids.

  • Time: Thursdays, 3:30pm-6:00pm

  • Class Dates: September 5 – November 14, 2019 (11 classes)
  • Final Performances: November 14th @ 5:00pm & 6:30pm
