Musical Theatre Dance (Ages 8-18)

In this 11-session class, students work on musical theatre jazz technique and combinations while gaining strength, flexibility, and endurance with StarStruck’s MainStage choreographer Francesca Cipponeri. Whether your student has taken just one theatre class or has been enrolled at StarStruck for years, ALL StarStruck students are highly encouraged to enroll in this class!

GROUP PLACEMENT DAY- AUG 28: All enrolled students are asked to attend class on August 28th from 3:45-5:00pm. After this class, the instructor will place each student into one of the two groups as outlined below. Past semesters younger students and students newer to dance have met during the Group A timeslot and older/more experienced dancers have met during the Group B timeslot.

Private Lessons with Molly (Piano or Voice)

Getting ready for an audition? Wanting to learn more about your voice? Have you always wanted to play piano? Now is your chance! These private lessons on either voice or piano will focus on technique that you can incorporate into other performance opportunities. Each student will receive 9 individualized lessons, which will lead to a group recital for friends and family at the end of the session. Lessons are open to ages 8 and up.

Kids on Broadway (Kindergarten-2nd Grade)

In this introduction to musical theatre, students will explore the basics of singing, dancing, and acting. We will have fun creating our own “mini musical” with 2 to 3 musical theatre songs and perform for friends and family at our final class meeting. This is the perfect class for students who are interested in musical theatre but are not quite ready for the intensity of the Mini Musical/Song & Dance Class.

Putting on a Play (Ages 10-18)

Explore the fundamentals of putting on a play from auditioning to the big final performance! In this intermediate theatre class, students will focus on acting by exploring improv, drama, and comedy while rehearsing a 45 minute play. Students are expected to attend every class and memorize lines and blocking.

Mini Musical (Ages 8-12)

Mini Musical is the perfect place for both budding and experienced performers that love singing, dancing, and acting. In this class, students will put together a 45-minute musical that will conclude with a performance at the StarStruck Studio for friends and family. Students are expected to attend every class and study at home to memorize music and choreography. This semester, the Mini Musical class will be performing Dear Edwina JR.

Dear Edwina JR. follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver-extraordinaire, Edwina Spoonapple, as she directs the neighborhood kids in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly "Advice-a-Palooza.” Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends, through clever, catchy and poignant songs.
