Youth Teaching Artist, Music Director, or Choreographer
StarStruck Theatre in Fremont, CA is seeking a talented, positive, and passionate Teaching Artists, Youth Music Directors, and choreographers for our upcoming Fall classes (September-November).
About the Position
The ideal candidate:
- Loves musical theatre and working with children
- Is a fantastic leader, communicator, and team player
- Contributes to both weekly and daily schedules for their team
- Has a strong background in singing and piano, with the ability to assist in demonstrating choreography, scene work, and theatre games OR
- A strong background in musical theatre dance with experience creating choreography for children with the ability to assist in scene work and theatre games
- Has at least one year of experience teaching theatrical classes and camps for ages 8–14, or a strong background in musical theatre music with a keen interest in working with children
Time Commitment:
- Classes meet 1x/week for 8-12 weeks. Most classes start as early as 3:45pm and end by 6:30pm
Location:
StarStruck Office/Studios, Fremont, CA
Employment Type:
Contract/Part-Time, with opportunity to extend past August
Compensation:
Compensation for secondary instructors is $25-40 hour (approximately 30 hours per week) depending on experience

Camp Counselors/ Teaching Assistants
Teaching assistants (TA's) are high school and college age students who are are a vital part of the success of classes and camps at StarStruck. TA duties include arriving early to set up the studio, checking in students, helping manage student behavior, demonstrate songs/dances, leading theatre games/warm-ups, supervising lunch and snack breaks, and acting as tech crew for performances at the end of the semester/camp session. More experienced TA's may also be responsible for light directing, choreography, or music directing duties.
Can I be in the MainStage and TA??
Being a TA while rehearsing for a MainStage is not for the faint of heart, but it is a lot of fun!
Are TA's paid? TAing is a volunteer position. TA's are eligible to collect service learning hours for school, or they can earn a $300 credit to use toward taking classes or participating in MainStage productions at StarStruck. Learn more about the new TA Credit Policy HERE.

Summer Camp Director 2027
Fremont, CA | Contract Positions
StarStruck Theatre is seeking passionate, positive, and skilled Teaching Artists for 2027 Summer Camps (June–August).
Ideal Candidates
- Love musical theatre and working with children
- Are confident leaders and team players
- Create engaging, age-appropriate learning environments
- Have experience teaching or directing youth theatre
Experience includes one or more of the following:
- 3+ years teaching theatre classes or camps (ages 6–14)
- 2+ years directing experience
- Musical theatre choreography experience
- Vocal directing experience
Schedule & Compensation

Summer Camps:
- One-week sessions, Monday–Friday See Full 2026 Schedule & Themes Here
- Approximately 9:00am–3:00pm
- Compensation: $600-$900/week (based on experience)

Teaching Artist Duties
- Lead warm-ups, theatre games, and rehearsals
- Create and teach 2 of the following areas: choreography, blocking, or music
- Collaborate with StarStruck’s artistic team
- Maintain consistency and professionalism throughout the session
- Assist with costumes, props, and performance logistics
- Manage students and Teaching Assistants
- Serve as a kind, positive role model
