TA Credit Policy

Introducing our new TA Credit Policy!

Did you know that by TA-ing at Starstruck, you can now work towards a $300 credit that can be applied to Classes, Camp, or MainStage Production?

New TA Credit Policy (Updated Aug 2025): 

  • A student must TA for a minimum of 2 hours/week for 3 semesters (class or camps) to qualify to receive the $300 credit. The Credit can apply to either MainStage or Classes.

    • TA opportunities include: Dance, Improv, Mini Musical, Kids on Broadway, StarKids Camps, Jr. Show, etc

  • TA-ing for multiple classes in a semester does not accelerate the timeline to earn the credit. You must TA a minimum of 2 hours/week for 3 semesters (a combination of Summer, Fall, or Winter) to qualify.

  • Using your $300 credit for MainStage registration does NOT guarantee you a spot in the show. If you wish to use your credit for MainStage, we will apply it AFTER auditions and casting are final. 

  • If you are TA-ing for Summer Camp, you MUST TA for 4 weeks of camp in order to earn 1 semester. Example: 

    • TA for four 1-week camps (StarKids Camps)

    • TA for two, 2-week camps (Annie KIDS, etc)

    • TA for one 4 week camp (Finding Nemo Jr., Madagascar Jr, etc)

  • No double dipping! A semester of TA-ing does NOT qualify if you earned Service Learning Hours for that class/semester.

  • Once a credit has been earned, you may re-start the credit program to earn the credit a second time.

Have you TA-ed in the past?

  • If you have TA-ed in Winter ‘25 or Summer ‘25 (January 2025-August 2025) semesters, these hours can count towards your Credit (if you have not collected Service Learning Hours for your previous Classes/Camps)! 

  • If you have TA-ed BEFORE Winter ‘25 (before January 2025), those hours DO NOT count towards your credit.

EXAMPLES

TA Example #1:

  • Summer 25: 4 StarKids 1-week camps ✅

  • Fall 25: Kids on Broadway (45 min) and StarKids (1.25 hours) ✅(Together these 2 classes meet the minimum 2 hours/week policy)

  • Winter 26: Mini Musical (2.25 hours/week) ✅

  • Credit earned: May 2026 and now they can apply it toward Summer MainStage, should they be cast.! Yay!

TA Example #2:

  • Summer 25: 4-week Camp, already had service learning papers signed 🚫(Why? Receiving Service Learning hours- no double dipping)

  • Fall 25: Theatre Games Class (1 Hour) 🚫 (Why? Class met for less than 2 hours/week)

  • Winter 26: Mini Musical Thursday AND Friday (5 hours total) ✅

  • Summer 26: 1 StarKids camp (1 week) 🚫(Must TA minimum of 2 weeks in summer sessions)

  • Fall 26: Mini Musical Thursday (2.5 hours) BUT ended up missing more than 2 weeks of class 🚫 (TA missed several weeks of class and was not reliable)

  • Credit not yet earned: While we appreciate that this TA has helped a lot, unfortunately they do not qualify for the credit because they did not meet the minimum number of hours/camp sessions per semester.
