About MainStage
MainStage Musicals
StarStruck’s MainStage Musicals are the heart of our program—fully staged, professional-quality productions performed twice each year.
-
Winter MainStage performs January–February and is open to actors ages 9–19.
-
Summer MainStage performs July–August and is open to high school and early college performers (typically ages 13–20).
Each production combines the professionalism of a high-level show with the joy and camaraderie of youth theater. Performers of all experience levels are welcome—from first-time actors to seasoned young performers.
Onstage and off, cast members receive comprehensive training in singing, dancing, and acting, while also gaining insight into the technical and backstage world of theater. Every production features a live orchestra, stunning sets, costumes, and lighting—all brought to life on a full-sized stage.
Our MainStage shows attract a loyal audience, including Tri-City and Tri-Valley community members, alumni, longtime patrons, and, of course, friends and family of our performers.

Audition Process
Auditions open about two months before each production. Every show is unique, and casting depends on the needs of the production. If your child is not cast, please know this is only one step in their theater journey—many of our seasoned performers once started in the same place. At StarStruck, no audition is ever wasted; every experience builds skills and confidence.

Balancing Rehearsals and School
We know MainStage rehearsals can feel demanding. But many families find the structure actually helps students grow—not just as performers, but as individuals.
Actors often do homework during downtime at rehearsals, and many form study groups. Through the process, students develop:
-
Time management – balancing school, rehearsal, and life
-
Organization & responsibility – keeping track of schedules and materials
-
Discipline & focus – arriving prepared and engaged
-
Teamwork & collaboration – working as part of an ensemble
-
Resilience & perseverance – meeting challenges and long-term goals
-
Confidence & communication – presenting themselves on and off stage
These skills serve students far beyond theater—preparing them for college, careers, and life.
