Finding Nemo Jr : A 4-week Summer Performance Camp for intermediate to advanced actors ages 10-14

ABOUT THE CAMP:

StageStruck campers will work with StarStruck teaching artists Courtney Stokes and Francesca Cipponeri for 4 weeks to rehearse and perform Finding Nemo Jr. on the big stage at Ohlone College. Each day campers will work on singing, dancing, and acting skills while rehearsing Finding Nemo Jr. An average day consists of mostly rehearsing the show, but we will also play games and have breakout sessions focused on building audition skills, dance technique, and acting.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Registration Opens: Saturday, February 15, 2025 @ 10am
• Registration Closes: March 31, 2025
• Mandatory audition for those registered (all registered students will be cast): April 6, 2025 
• Callbacks (by invitation only): April 12, 2025

Camp Dates:

• June 2 - 20 at StarStruck Studios
• June 23-27 at Ohlone College
• Performances: Friday June 27th 7:00pm
• Saturday June 28th 2pm and 7 pm
• Sunday June 29 2pm 

Possible additional performances:

• Friday June 27 @ 2pm
• Sunday, June 29 @ 5pm

Tuition: $1,800  (SAVE $100- ENROLL BY MARCH 1st)

There are two different payment plans to complete Finding Nemo Jr. tuition payments. Please pick one plan and stick with it until your payments are complete. 

Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given if an actor withdraws from the cast after April 5th. Prior to April 5th, a $100 processing fee will be withheld.

If utilizing the payment plan, you must log back in to complete Payment 2 & 3 as they are not automatically issued. Failure to complete all three payments at the provided deadlines may forfeit your child's spot in camp.

Camp Schedule:

• No before or after care available

• CONFLICTS: Performers are expected to attend every day of camp, including all tech rehearsals and performances. If your student will miss any part of the camp dates or times (including late drop off/early pick-up), please let us know prior to registering at Education.StarStruck@gmail.com.

• No refunds or credits will be issued after auditions have been held. By registering for this camp, parents and actors agree that they are ready and excited to be any part in this production.

• Parent volunteers will be needed for load-in/strike, as backstage dressers, ushers, prop creation/refurbishing, painting, costume assistance, and more.

• Tuition includes cast t-shirt, video recording, and access to production photos

• Additional expenses include tickets to watch the show (no comps provided), hair/make-up supplies, modesty clothing, show shoes, etc.

• All applicants 8-12 years old are welcome and encouraged to also join one or more of our 1-week camps, "STARKIDS!". Admission for 1-week camps are first come, first served on our website beginning Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10am.
