START – Student Training in the ARTS – is a theatre arts program for budding performers interested in gaining and developing their skills in the performing arts. Whether your child is exploring the performing arts for the first time or has been performing for years; searching for a technique based class or a class that concludes with a performance, we hope you will join us as we explore all aspects of the exciting world of theatre.
Per guidelines from the State of California and the Fremont Unified School District, StarStruck will not be holding in-person classes, camps, or rehearsals until Alameda County is off the State Monitoring List for 14 consecutive days. Though this is heartbreaking to us and our loyal families, we believe that the health and safety of our students and staff can not be compromised.

START Improv (Ages 9-13) Mondays, 4-5pm - Improv is an art. It is an approach to creating theatre without a script and being in the moment. Students will learn the art of “acting quickly” while focusing on the fundamentals of improv. Students will focus on theatre games and improvised scenes, while building active listening skills, communication with scene partners and letting loose on stage or “ZOOM”. Join us in saying “YES” to improv!
Building Character (Ages 10-18) Thursdays, 4-5:30pm - A character actor is an actor who plays interesting, eccentric, or unusual characters that bring life and energy to the play. In this class, students will explore and learn how to create unique characters by using movement, vocal traits, and dialects. We will bring these characters to life through scenes, storytelling, and book narration. Students will also have the opportunity to design how their character looks with their provided stage makeup kit.
Scenes & Songs (Ages 8-12) Fridays, 4-5:30pm - Scenes & Songs is the perfect place for budding performers that love singing, dancing, and acting. In this online class, students will work on short scenes and songs from some of our favorite “mini musicals” of all time such as Shrek & Willy Wonka. Students are expected to attend every class and study at home to memorize lines, music, and choreography.
Puppetry Workshop (Ages 8-12) Saturdays, 11am-12n - In this beginning to intermediate creative theatre class, students will work with Broadway’s Kristin Stokes to craft puppets, create characters, build a story, and learn how to animate their home made puppet. StarStruck will provide puppet making materials so students can follow along with Kristin as we create our puppets together. Have a parent join as a fun Saturday morning activity together. With our unique puppets at the ready, students will learn the steps to creating a story, all while engaging with a creative community and working together.

Payment in full for each class will be made through the online registration system. Once we receive your enrollment materials, we will send a confirmation email. Once a class has met the minimum enrollment requirement, we will send an additional enrollment confirmation email.
LATE POLICY: We ask that you drop your child off no earlier than 5 minutes before the class period; this time is important for the teacher to prep.
Please be prompt at picking up your child from class. Being late has a huge impact on our staff. All of our teachers are also performers and must get to nightly rehearsals themselves and StarStruck does not have resources for aftercare. We understand that traffic and other activities can be an issue, but please plan accordingly.
There is a 10-minute grace period after class with a $2.00 fee for every minute thereafter.
