2023 Summer Performance Camps

Summer Performance Camps have been a programming highlight at StarStruck for over a decade. This summer we are bringing back our successful 1-week "StarKids" camps for ages 8-12. Returning students 10-14 years old will also be happy to hear our "StageStruck" performance camp have been extended from 3-weeks to 4-weeks long! More experienced teens 14+ will want visit THIS PAGE to learn about upcoming auditions for our Summer Teen MainStage- The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.

StarKids! 1-Week Camps 

  • Registration is first come first served, NO application required

  • Registration starts March 8, 2023 at 10am

In StarKids 1-week Camps, students 8 to 12 years old meet for 1-week sessions to explore the basics of musical theatre. Students must be fully vaccinated by the first camp meeting, no exceptions.

Lights, Camera, Action! (July 3-7, July 24-28) Campers will get to rock out to some of our favorite songs from movies such as High School Musical, Camp Rock, and Teen Beach Movie! *No camp Tuesday, July 4th

Music by Menken (July 10-14, July 31-August 4) Journey on a “tale as old as time” as we “seize the day” performing songs and scenes from musicals by Alan Menken! Menken is the man behind the music for musicals such as Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, Aladdin and many more!

Battle of the Villains (July 17-21, August 7-11) Join us as we have fun exploring songs from our favorite villain characters from musicals such as Descendants, Beetlejuice, and The Addams Family!

StageStruck! 4-Week Camp 

Applications NOW OPEN

Students meet for 4 weeks to rehearse and perform a musical at Ohlone College's NUMMI Blackbox Theatre. To join this intermediate performance camp, students must first submit an audition application between February 15-March 1, 2023. We will notify you of your admission status by March 6th. 

Ages: 10-14 

Show Title: Madagascar Jr. 

Tuition: $1,500

  • WEEK 1: June 5-9 (Mon-Fri): 9:30am-3:30pm
  • WEEK 2: June 12-16 (Mon-Fri): 9:30am-3:30pm
  • WEEK 3: June 19-23 (Mon-Fri): 9:30am-3:30pm
  • WEEK 4 (TECH/ PERFORMANCE WEEK): June 26- July 2 (Mon-Sun): times vary (see here for more information)

  • Weeks 1-3: StarStruck Studio- 42307 Osgood Road, Unit J, Fremont, CA
  • Week 4: NUMMI Theatre at Ohlone College, Fremont

Applications will be accepted via GoogleForms February 15 to March 1, 2023. Admission is not based on a first come first served basis, but rather at the discretion of the director and the requirements of the show. Please do not send money at this time- only the online registration form. You will be notified by March 6th of your child’s enrollment status. If accepted, you will be sent an access code to register on our website. Admitted students that have not enrolled online by Friday, March 11th may be replaced by a student from the waiting list.

Conflicts

Performers are expected to attend every day of camp, including all tech rehearsals and performances. If your student will miss any part of the camp dates or times, please let us know on your audition application.

***Please be honest about any potential conflicts (including any late drop off/early pick-up) you may have during summer camp. Students with one or two conflicts CAN be admitted, as long as we're notified in your application. Unfortunately, due to the high number of camp applications that we usually receive, adding conflicts AFTER you're admitted to camp may result in your child losing their spot in camp.***

Camp Safety

We are so excited to welcome our students back to the studio again this summer. All in person camps will adhere to current CDC and Alameda County guidelines as they undoubtedly shift. Some guidelines of note:

  • Summer 2023 Campers are required to be fully vaccinated or present negative COVID test each week. All StarStruck staff and teaching assistants are also fully vaccinated + boosted. 
  • Masks are not currently required, but students should be prepared to wear a mask for all rehearsals and performances in the event guidelines change. 
  • In the event that an actor tests positive and is unable to attend their camp session, please send doctors note & photo of positive test with student's name and date on test as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate the actor in another camp session.

    Additional Info

    • Applicants ages 12 and younger are welcome and encouraged to also consider joining one or more of our 1-week camps, "STARKIDS!". Admission for 1-week camps are first come, first served on our website beginning Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 10am.
    • Students who are not admitted after the first round of applications will automatically be added to a waitlist. We will add students from the waitlist to our camps if registered students drop.
